Sweet Wedding in Hvar

Beautiful wedding in Hvar Croatia Our love story began when we met 8 years ago at a friend’s barbeque on a rare, sunny bank holiday weekend in England. After releasing we had quite a few mutual friends and lots in common we began chatting, dated for 6 months and then soon moved in together. Unknown to me, In 2014, Anthony decided that he wanted to propose to me. After searching for the right ring for a while, he found a jewellers in the Lanes in Brighton who were able to help design and make the perfect ring, Anthony decided that the perfect time to ask me would be later on that year, on our holiday in Sardinia. And so, on the evening of the 4th September 2014, on the beautiful island of Sardinia, whilst enjoying a drink on the terrace of our hotel overlooking the marina, Anthony got down on one knee and asked a shocked and unsuspecting myself to be his wife. Luckily for him, I said ‘YES’! Both of us had always spoken of getting married abroad, and so the planning began! Anthony and I spent a number of months researching different destinations across Europe for our special day, however we wanted to choose somewhere at least one of us had visited. My Mum and I had holidayed in Hvar a few months before myself and Anthony got engaged and both instantly fell in love with the island. We came back to England telling Anthony about how stunning the island is and how he had to go! After hours of searching the internet, we soon realised that the beautiful Croatian Island of Hvar was the perfect setting for our big day. We found the venues for our ceremony and reception and booked it! The date was set for the 4th September 2015. Anthony and I arrived in beautiful Hvar a week before the wedding, we only had one day to ourselves before all of our 50 guests began to arrive! We had such a wonderful week with all our families and friends. Every day we sunbathed, swam in the sea and drank cocktails by the pool. The next thing we knew we were all waking up and it was the day of our wedding. That morning we all went for a light breakfast and then all of the boys were shipped off to a different hotel room. We met with Danijela & Zvonimir for the first time after breakfast to talk through the running of the day! We had been in contact prior to the wedding day, but after seeing all of their work we were both confident that we were in excellent hands. By this time we were all a few shades browner with our own little collection of mosquito bites! Our ceremony began at 4pm on the 4th September 2105 in the courtyard of St Marks – an old Dominican Monastery. The venue was so pretty and was exactly what we both wanted. St Marks is the most beautiful church and courtyard in Hvar, located just off the main square. It really is amazing and perfect for such a special service. Luckily the day began with bright sunshine and then turned slightly overcast, we didn’t mind though as it had been so hot all week, I think all of the men welcomed the cooler weather with open arms seeing as they were all wearing suits! Anthony, both of our Dads and all of the groomsmen party wore matching black tuxedos with black bow ties and all looked so smart. Both of our Mums wore different shades of pink and my bridesmaids wore long, nude maxi dresses with sandals. My wedding dress and veil were designed by myself and custom made for me by a lady called Blanka from a bridal boutique in Brighton. Our Florist did a brilliant job of all the bouquets, men’s button holes and flowers for our ceremony. To decorate St Marks we chose all white Hydrangea and Roses with some greenery which looked so simple yet so lovely. For mine and the bridesmaid bouquets I was undecided for a while, but in the end chose cream and pale pink roses with greenery. The Ceremony was taken by two local registrars. One lady spoke in Croatian and another translated what she had said into English, this lasted around 40 minutes in total. Straight after we said our “I do’s” we stayed at the venue to all enjoy Champagne and have photographs taken. Following this all of our guests headed to the very glamorous Bonj les Bains beach club where Pimms and canapes we awaiting them. Just as Anthony and I had finished having our photos taken we started to feel light droplets of rain, so we walked a little faster and arrived at the reception venue luckily before the heavens opened! I had arranged with the the local lighting technicians for them to drape fairy lights on the ceiling of the top floor of Bonj les Bains, which was something they had never done before. We were both unsure how it would look, but the risk paid off and everyone commented on how nice they looked. We all sat down for the meal and within 5 or so minutes the light rain had turned into a massive storm. The venue is sheltered however is open at the sides therefore by this time wind and rain was soaking mainly us on the top table! The staff were really fast to act and bought lots of umbrellas to us to keep us dry, shots of Jager were poured for everyone and the storm passed within 15 minutes…..Thank goodness!!!! Only to leave us with NO POWER! So, we along with our 50 guests all ate our three course meal by candle light. The food was delicious, for starter we chose linguini with melted cherry tomatoes, fluffy sliced prosciutto in a buttery wine sauce. For the main meal we chose grilled seabass fillet, dauphinoise potato with

Thank you for stopping by. We’re glad you’re here. Dubrovnik Wedding with a Military Story of Love and Service Eva and Greg Dubrovnik Wedding | Eva and Greg  met thousands of miles away from one other.  They spent time over the period of a year simply writing and exchanging thoughts on everything from mediocre importance like favorite foods and the news or of monumental importance like kids and religion.    Their words and their conversations turned into something more.  This courtship separated by countless miles became commitment.  A commitment from Greg to travel to Germany and a commitment from Eva to risk everything on this lumbering monster of a man. (lol) The first time they met in Germany during most would say the surroundings were unfit to stoke the fires of everlasting love.  Words like cold, harsh, unforgiving were used to describe the weather and surroundings that fall and winter, but Eva and Greg’s love broke through.   They suffered annoyance and happiness from the typical hurdles new couples’ experience, moving in together, learning each other’s rhythms, and encouraging each other’s passions. Inevitably Eva and Greg came to a major decision in their relationship.   Could they trust each other enough to welcome a new member of their yet to be solidified family?    The answer was yes and they chose the Dogo Argentino.  The Dogo Argentino is a beautiful headstrong dog that was developed in Argentina. The breeder wanted a dog that would exhibit steadfast bravery and willingly protect its human companions to the death.  This was really the true point at which Eva and Greg made an eternal commitment to one another.  Cooper their now two and a half year old boy continued to teach Eva and Greg the meaning of trust, unconditional love, and forgiveness the essential parts of any marriage and it is from his commitment to be at their sides, that they too strengthened their commitment to each other. Within a year of bringing Cooper into their lives Greg knew it was time to ask for Eva’s hand in marriage.  He nervously spent a day with Eva’s father Siegfried, mother Doris, and Brother Johannes to ask permission and was thankfully given it without incident.  Soon after Greg planned to take Eva back to the U.S. and ask the big question, but hardship struck at the worst time.  Greg’s Grandfather passed away and Eva was quickly thrown into a scenario where she would have to experience Greg at his worst and also his Father Richard, Mother Michele, and brothers Rick and Mike’s worst of times.  Eva carried Greg’s sorrow and fear as her own and through the sadness of this event, the beauty of two people promising their unspoken matters of the heart gave everyone glimmer of hope. The Wedding was set but, “Why Dubrovnik?” one would ask. Eva a German Woman and Greg an American Man had no connection to this city, no history with the Croatian people.  Their decision mimicked the tale of their love.  They simply fell head over heels in love with the city after only one trip there.  Their first visit walking in the old town, dipping in the Adriatic Sea, and sharing the unforgettable sunsets together mimicked exactly what the perfect wedding should have.  Dubrovnik has natural beauty and is a constant reminder of the countless couples who devoted their love to one another through time.   They declared their love in front of family, friends, God Almighty, and yes also Cooper eternally and forever on September 24th 2015. Their Dubrovnik wedding was more than just a day — it was the celebration of a lifetime.

Big Fat Croatian wedding – why?

We all know the comedy movie ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ that conquered all world theaters and put smiles on many faces. Even though some people say they want a small decent wedding, deep down in their hearts they actually dream of the big, white, traditional and, we may say, fat wedding (fat meaning the wedding with lots of nice and tasty foods). So, how about a big fat Croatian wedding? If you have never heard of Croatia seat back, relax and keep reading! Croatia is the newest star on the European Union flag. This is a small country with big potential, mostly in natural and historical resources. This is the country with one of the richest water sources in Europe but also in the world and it’s most famous for its beautiful coastline on the Adriatic Sea. Many people say it is one of the most beautiful seas in the world! Besides the blue sea,  there are also thousands (yeah, you read well – thousands!) of islands, islets and peninsulas and this is what makes the whole Croatian Adriatic story so special.  One of the Croatian treasure destinations is widely known town of Dubrovnik. It is settled in the south of Croatia, close to the Montenegro border. Dubrovnik is recognized by the medieval walls and is named one of the ten most beautiful medieval cities in the world. Apart from the walls, this town has numerous churches, narrow streets, restaurants and other remarkable old constructions where you could have your ‘big fat Croatian wedding’. It is also good to mention that Dubrovnik is one of the top touristic destinations in the world and its second name is ‘Croatian Athens’! But, Dubrovnik is not the only pearl Croatia can offer. There are many other places that can easily take your breath away and make you to consider having your wedding ceremony exactly there! Just to name a few – town of Rovinj, island of Hvar (the sunniest place in Croatia!), town of Split, Zadar, Šibenik… All of this places offer beautiful nature, most of all clean, crystal blue see, and also old churches, narrow streets, good food… what else do you need for a great wedding? But it’s not only the coast that Croatia can offer. It also has mountainous regions and flat areas.  Lika is mountainous region and can be very romantic durring winter, with a lot of snow covering many nice old weekend cottages. On the other side is flat area called Slavonia. Huge green meadows, many rivers and grain fields, numerous medieval churches and castles is what you first notice. Perhaps, one of the places inland could be a prefect place for your wedding! Apart from the beautiful regions of Croatia, this country offers memorable culinary experience, too. One of many secrets to great Croatian food are top-notch ingredients from the land and sea. Sea food is very popular on the coastline and the tastes you feel there will surely make you come again for more. On the continental part of the country very popular meals are made of meat, beans and potatoes prepared the traditional way. Many would agree that Croatia’s untouched natural beauty, healthy food, water, medival architechture, warm, pleasent and hospitable people make it the perfect wedding destination! So why not have a ‘big fat Croatian wedding’?!

Wedding Palmizana Hvar

Wedding Video Palmizana – An Amazing Place to Get Married Have you ever been to Palmizana? If not, let us paint the picture. It’s not just an island — it’s a piece of heaven floating on the Adriatic. Nestled near the more famous Hvar Island, Palmizana is one of those rare places where time slows down, senses awaken, and nature does all the talking. With its lush pine forests, fragrant rosemary, crystal-clear waters, and intimate beach coves, it truly feels like a hidden paradise made for lovers of peace, beauty, and authentic Mediterranean charm. It’s no surprise that Anah and Jon, our radiant couple from the United Kingdom, instantly fell in love with this magical place. They were looking for something truly unique — a wedding that wouldn’t feel like a checklist, but like a dream they were living out with the people who mattered most. And Palmizana delivered on every level. When we first received their message, we were deeply touched. Anah and Jon told us they had come across our work online and were immediately drawn to the way we tell stories — naturally, emotionally, and without pretension. They wanted us to be there, to witness and capture their most special day. It’s always humbling to hear that our films travel far and stir emotions in people we’ve never even met — and when those people invite us into their lives, it feels like a true honor. We met the couple a day before the wedding and were instantly charmed. There was something effortlessly beautiful about them — the way they looked at each other, how they finished each other’s thoughts, and how comfortable they were just being themselves. From the beginning, it was clear that this wouldn’t be a stiff or staged wedding, but rather a relaxed, honest celebration of love, friendship, and joy. The morning of the wedding was peaceful — the kind of peace that only islands like Palmizana can offer. Gentle waves lapping against the docks, sun filtering through pine needles, a few boats floating quietly in the distance. It was as if nature itself was holding its breath in anticipation of something beautiful. Anah got ready in a cozy seaside villa, surrounded by her closest friends. Laughter filled the air as they helped her into her dress, each moment more genuine than the last. No rushing, no stress — just joy, music, and excitement. Jon, equally relaxed, spent the morning with his groomsmen, toasting to the day ahead and soaking in the calm. The ceremony took place in a small clearing overlooking the sea. No traditional chapel, no heavy decorations — just the couple, their people, and the blue horizon. The vows they exchanged were deeply personal and heartfelt. It was one of those rare moments where you could see everyone — guests, vendors, even us — silently moved, eyes glistening, hearts open. After the ceremony, the celebration truly began. The reception was held outdoors, under fairy lights strung between pine trees, with long wooden tables filled with Mediterranean dishes and local wines. Music floated in the air, and laughter echoed through the forest. It felt more like a summer night with friends than a formal wedding — and that was exactly the point. What made this wedding so special was how true it was to them. Anah and Jon didn’t follow any trends or expectations. They followed their hearts. And Palmizana, in all its raw and natural beauty, allowed them the space to do just that. As wedding videographers, we always look for stories — not just pretty visuals. And this wedding gave us everything. Moments of quiet intimacy, explosive laughter, spontaneous dancing, kids running barefoot, a toast that turned into a group singalong, a sunset that made everyone stop and stare. There was no script, just life unfolding beautifully. We captured it all in a 15-minute film that, we hope, reflects the soul of that day. The energy, the love, the connection. We often say that a wedding video isn’t just for the couple, but for their future selves — for those quiet nights years from now when they want to remember how it all felt. The light. The music. The touch. The emotion. Not long after delivering the video, we received a message from Anah and Jon that truly moved us. They told us they had cried watching it — not because it was sad, but because it brought back every second of that day with such intensity and truth. They watched it with their families. They shared it with friends who couldn’t be there. And most of all, they said, “It felt like us.” That’s always the goal. To create something that’s not just beautiful, but meaningful. Something real. Palmizana is the kind of place that lends itself to magic. It strips away the noise and lets emotion breathe. For couples looking for an alternative wedding destination in Croatia, one that’s off the beaten path but filled with warmth, personality, and natural wonder — this island is truly a gem. It’s perfect for small weddings, elopements, or intimate gatherings where connection matters more than perfection. The logistics are simple, especially with the help of local planners, and the experience is unforgettable. Palmizana isn’t for everyone — and that’s what makes it so special. It’s for dreamers, for romantics, for those who want something different. We’ll never forget this celebration, and we hope this video speaks to those of you who are still searching for your place — your moment. If it makes your heart beat faster, that’s a good sign. This is Anah and Jon’s story. Their love, their people, their island. And this is their wedding video — a tribute to everything they felt, shared, and lived on that perfect day. Watch the full film and feel the energy of Palmizana. Maybe it’s the place where your story will begin too. Anah and Jon, Palmizana Hvar Wedding Video from OneDayStudio – Croatia Weddings on Vimeo.
