Sweet Wedding in Hvar

Beautiful wedding in Hvar Croatia Our love story began when we met 8 years ago at a friend’s barbeque on a rare, sunny bank holiday weekend in England. After releasing we had quite a few mutual friends and lots in common we began chatting, dated for 6 months and then soon moved in together. Unknown to me, In 2014, Anthony decided that he wanted to propose to me. After searching for the right ring for a while, he found a jewellers in the Lanes in Brighton who were able to help design and make the perfect ring, Anthony decided that the perfect time to ask me would be later on that year, on our holiday in Sardinia. And so, on the evening of the 4th September 2014, on the beautiful island of Sardinia, whilst enjoying a drink on the terrace of our hotel overlooking the marina, Anthony got down on one knee and asked a shocked and unsuspecting myself to be his wife. Luckily for him, I said ‘YES’! Both of us had always spoken of getting married abroad, and so the planning began! Anthony and I spent a number of months researching different destinations across Europe for our special day, however we wanted to choose somewhere at least one of us had visited. My Mum and I had holidayed in Hvar a few months before myself and Anthony got engaged and both instantly fell in love with the island. We came back to England telling Anthony about how stunning the island is and how he had to go! After hours of searching the internet, we soon realised that the beautiful Croatian Island of Hvar was the perfect setting for our big day. We found the venues for our ceremony and reception and booked it! The date was set for the 4th September 2015. Anthony and I arrived in beautiful Hvar a week before the wedding, we only had one day to ourselves before all of our 50 guests began to arrive! We had such a wonderful week with all our families and friends. Every day we sunbathed, swam in the sea and drank cocktails by the pool. The next thing we knew we were all waking up and it was the day of our wedding. That morning we all went for a light breakfast and then all of the boys were shipped off to a different hotel room. We met with Danijela & Zvonimir for the first time after breakfast to talk through the running of the day! We had been in contact prior to the wedding day, but after seeing all of their work we were both confident that we were in excellent hands. By this time we were all a few shades browner with our own little collection of mosquito bites! Our ceremony began at 4pm on the 4th September 2105 in the courtyard of St Marks – an old Dominican Monastery. The venue was so pretty and was exactly what we both wanted. St Marks is the most beautiful church and courtyard in Hvar, located just off the main square. It really is amazing and perfect for such a special service. Luckily the day began with bright sunshine and then turned slightly overcast, we didn’t mind though as it had been so hot all week, I think all of the men welcomed the cooler weather with open arms seeing as they were all wearing suits! Anthony, both of our Dads and all of the groomsmen party wore matching black tuxedos with black bow ties and all looked so smart. Both of our Mums wore different shades of pink and my bridesmaids wore long, nude maxi dresses with sandals. My wedding dress and veil were designed by myself and custom made for me by a lady called Blanka from a bridal boutique in Brighton. Our Florist did a brilliant job of all the bouquets, men’s button holes and flowers for our ceremony. To decorate St Marks we chose all white Hydrangea and Roses with some greenery which looked so simple yet so lovely. For mine and the bridesmaid bouquets I was undecided for a while, but in the end chose cream and pale pink roses with greenery. The Ceremony was taken by two local registrars. One lady spoke in Croatian and another translated what she had said into English, this lasted around 40 minutes in total. Straight after we said our “I do’s” we stayed at the venue to all enjoy Champagne and have photographs taken. Following this all of our guests headed to the very glamorous Bonj les Bains beach club where Pimms and canapes we awaiting them. Just as Anthony and I had finished having our photos taken we started to feel light droplets of rain, so we walked a little faster and arrived at the reception venue luckily before the heavens opened! I had arranged with the the local lighting technicians for them to drape fairy lights on the ceiling of the top floor of Bonj les Bains, which was something they had never done before. We were both unsure how it would look, but the risk paid off and everyone commented on how nice they looked. We all sat down for the meal and within 5 or so minutes the light rain had turned into a massive storm. The venue is sheltered however is open at the sides therefore by this time wind and rain was soaking mainly us on the top table! The staff were really fast to act and bought lots of umbrellas to us to keep us dry, shots of Jager were poured for everyone and the storm passed within 15 minutes…..Thank goodness!!!! Only to leave us with NO POWER! So, we along with our 50 guests all ate our three course meal by candle light. The food was delicious, for starter we chose linguini with melted cherry tomatoes, fluffy sliced prosciutto in a buttery wine sauce. For the main meal we chose grilled seabass

Dubrovnik Wedding with a Military Story of Love and Service Eva and Greg Dubrovnik Wedding | Eva and Greg met thousands of miles away from one other. They spent time over the period of a year simply writing and exchanging thoughts on everything from mediocre importance like favorite foods and the news or of monumental importance like kids and religion. Their words and their conversations turned into something more. This courtship separated by countless miles became commitment. A commitment from Greg to travel to Germany and a commitment from Eva to risk everything on this lumbering monster of a man. (lol) The first time they met in Germany during most would say the surroundings were unfit to stoke the fires of everlasting love. Words like cold, harsh, unforgiving were used to describe the weather and surroundings that fall and winter, but Eva and Greg’s love broke through. They suffered annoyance and happiness from the typical hurdles new couples’ experience, moving in together, learning each other’s rhythms, and encouraging each other’s passions. Inevitably Eva and Greg came to a major decision in their relationship. Could they trust each other enough to welcome a new member of their yet to be solidified family? The answer was yes and they chose the Dogo Argentino. The Dogo Argentino is a beautiful headstrong dog that was developed in Argentina. The breeder wanted a dog that would exhibit steadfast bravery and willingly protect its human companions to the death. This was really the true point at which Eva and Greg made an eternal commitment to one another. Cooper their now two and a half year old boy continued to teach Eva and Greg the meaning of trust, unconditional love, and forgiveness the essential parts of any marriage and it is from his commitment to be at their sides, that they too strengthened their commitment to each other. Within a year of bringing Cooper into their lives Greg knew it was time to ask for Eva’s hand in marriage. He nervously spent a day with Eva’s father Siegfried, mother Doris, and Brother Johannes to ask permission and was thankfully given it without incident. Soon after Greg planned to take Eva back to the U.S. and ask the big question, but hardship struck at the worst time. Greg’s Grandfather passed away and Eva was quickly thrown into a scenario where she would have to experience Greg at his worst and also his Father Richard, Mother Michele, and brothers Rick and Mike’s worst of times. Eva carried Greg’s sorrow and fear as her own and through the sadness of this event, the beauty of two people promising their unspoken matters of the heart gave everyone glimmer of hope. The Wedding was set but, “Why Dubrovnik?” one would ask. Eva a German Woman and Greg an American Man had no connection to this city, no history with the Croatian people. Their decision mimicked the tale of their love. They simply fell head over heels in love with the city after only one trip there. Their first visit walking in the old town, dipping in the Adriatic Sea, and sharing the unforgettable sunsets together mimicked exactly what the perfect wedding should have. Dubrovnik has natural beauty and is a constant reminder of the countless couples who devoted their love to one another through time. They declared their love in front of family, friends, God Almighty, and yes also Cooper eternally and forever on September 24th 2015. Vis Wedding Photography – A Dream Wedding on Croatia’s Hidden Gem Vis Wedding Photography That Tells Your Real Love Story I know it may sound weird that two soulmates can meet in a night club at a trance party, where usually no one talks to each other, but it really is possible. Exactly these two weird soulmates are now the happiest Mr and Mrs on the whole planet…or, we love to believe we are. Back in 2010, even 6 months after I (Fatime) had moved from Bosnia to an Austrian village as au pair, my host family was still trying to motivate me to go out on my own. After so many failed tries, on the 14.8.2010, I finally decided to take the last train from the country side to Vienna and to return back with the first one in the morning. I went to my favorite club which I loved so much, because it was a club with a planetarium where you could sit and enjoy watching the stars when you got tired from dancing. I came to the club with a great wish to dance all night long. Even though a few people tried to talk to me, my answer was always the same “I´m here to dance”. But then, at some point, this cute guy I had noticed in the que in front of the club, he came to me and we simply started dancing. It felt so normal that one would think we had known each other forever. And I do like to think our souls had been together for much longer before we even met each other. It was such a memorable night I can still remember almost every single detail about it. At some point both of us got tired from dancing and went to find a nice place to sit in the planetarium to watch the stars. We stayed there for hours without really talking to each other, but it simply felt like the right thing to do. Unfortunately, we were “kicked out” from the planetarium around 5am and we had another hour to spend together before my train left Vienna. Somehow I managed to give him a wrong phone number and a day after that was the first time I was incredibly thankful for having such a rare name, which made it easy for him to find me on Facebook J. From then on, it all went just perfect. We started dating on the 28.8.2010, which is still our anniversary day, because we got married on the same date this year. We never really used to talk about getting married, probably because we started living together in the fourth month of our relationship and it somehow felt like being married. If I was to say one thing I always loved and still adore about him…it would be him, being such a great dreamer. He always loved to talk about his great wish for traveling around the world once he finishes his master studies and somehow…that moment came so quickly and, suddenly, we were both packing our backpacks and getting ready for our big adventure. couldn’t believe we were really going to be gone for about three months, on our own. And, even if it may sound like a big lie, I never, really never even thought he could be intending to propose on me on our trip. But, he was…and that was without any doubt, the most beautiful day in my life, until our wedding day. There are no words in any language I speak, which could explain my enthusiasm and happiness about getting married to a men a woman can only dream about. I enjoyed every single second of getting all done for our big day. We decided to exchange our wedding vows on the beautiful Croatian Island Vis which we loved it so much, because we had our most beautiful and memorable vacation there back in 2011. I was so happy for having the whole freedom of planning the wedding exactly the way I wanted it and that’s the way the wedding was in the end. My perfect bohemian wedding with our closest family and friends. But, let the most beautiful pics made by Danijela from One Day Studio tell you more about this special day.
