A city that moves to the rhythm of films, songs, and stories we all somehow know—long before we ever visit. But for those who’ve had the chance to walk its avenues with a camera in hand, New York is so much more than a backdrop. It’s alive. And for me, as a wedding photographer, it’s one of the most inspiring stages in the world. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to capture love in the city that never sleeps—the answer is: unforgettable. Kina & Xavi Central Park – the city’s heart and the soul of photography Central Park is the first place that comes to mind when you think of romance in New York. Green lawns, storybook bridges, hidden lakeside nooks, and the iconic views from Bow Bridge—each space draws out tenderness from every couple. No wonder it’s one of the most sought-after outdoor wedding photography spots in the city. What’s magical is how many different emotions one park can hold—each season offering its own personality. Autumn brings fiery leaves, spring bursts into bloom, winter dusts everything in quiet snow, and summer… summer makes the whole city glow. Central Park isn’t just a location—it’s a feeling. Brooklyn Bridge, DUMBO & the Manhattan skyline A short walk from Manhattan and you find yourself in Brooklyn—another legendary spot. The Brooklyn Bridge at sunset might feel like a cliché, but there’s a reason it’s so loved. The light, the city, the movement… it all comes together in a frame that speaks without words. Just a few steps away is DUMBO, where between the red-brick buildings, the Manhattan Bridge reveals itself in one of the most photographed perspectives in the city. As a New York wedding photographer, I don’t just capture the couple here—I capture the spirit of New York wrapping around them. Grand Central, Top of the Rock, Times Square… New York is incredibly diverse. One moment you’re shooting a couple in the quiet of a bookstore in SoHo, the next you’re in the buzzing lights of Times Square. Grand Central Terminal offers elegance and timeless movement. Top of the Rock gives panoramic views that steal your breath. Each location in this city has a personality of its own—like a supporting character in every couple’s story. Did you know over 60,000 weddings happen in NYC every year? Yes—more than 60,000 couples say “I do” in New York City each year. That’s one wedding every nine minutes on average. And what’s even more fascinating—couples come from all over the world. Some dream of saying their vows at City Hall, others choose rooftop ceremonies or a quiet moment in the Botanical Gardens. New York doesn’t choose—it welcomes. And it gives each love story a frame that’s as unique as the people in it. As a New York wedding photographer, that means one thing: every weekend, a new story. A new energy. A new opportunity to photograph love woven into the pulse of this incredible city. Why couples choose New York Besides being one of the most iconic cities in the world, New York has that something you can’t explain in words—but you can capture in photos. Couples come here looking for something different. They want a cinematic feel. They want the texture of the streets, the elegance of the skyline, and the mix of old-world romance and modern edge. For some, it’s an escape. For others, a lifelong dream. And for me? It’s trust. Because when someone asks me to be their New York wedding photographer, I know they’re not just asking for images—they’re asking for an experience. The moments between the frames What I love most about photographing weddings in New York isn’t just the locations—it’s what happens in between. When a bride lifts her dress to avoid a puddle in the Lower East Side, and her partner holds her veil. When a couple pauses in front of a street saxophonist playing their song. When they lean into each other silently, letting the hum of the city surround them. These are the moments you can’t plan. But New York gives them freely. What to expect from a wedding shoot in NYC Lots of walking. Lots of spontaneity. And lots of joy. Photographing in this city isn’t about posed studio work—it’s an adventure. We plan basic stops, but the best frames come from what we didn’t expect. That’s why I always tell couples: wear comfortable shoes, bring your smile, and just be yourselves. We’ll let New York do the rest. If you’re the kind of couple that wants a love story that moves, that breathes, that dances with the energy of a city—this is your place. And I’m your photographer. In closing – New York as the canvas for your love story New York isn’t for everyone. It’s fast, loud, unpredictable. But for those who choose it, it offers what no other place can: the chance for ordinary moments to become cinematic. For streets to become stages. For every glance, smile, and touch to become part of something greater. If you’re looking for a New York wedding photographer who can tell your story with honesty, emotion, and artistry—it would be an honor. Because this city deserves to be felt. And you deserve to

Dubrovnik Wedding Planner Back to Blog Welcome to One Day Studio We’re Zvonimir and Daniella – the founders of One Day Studio, a storytelling-driven wedding house born in 2010.With roots in editorial and wedding photography, and years of experience across the globe — from Alaska to Saudi Arabia — we’ve had the honor of capturing love across cultures, continents, and traditions. Thank you for stopping by. We’re glad you’re here. Your Guide to Finding the Perfect Dubrovnik Wedding Planner FIRST THINGS FIRST Couples often do not know where to start. Due to the excitement, bride and groom usually focus on all those sweet details which require attention only after solving the key elements that form the basis of any wedding. ADVICE: The first step is to choose your ideal location, set a date and set the limits of your budget, as well as to decide the type of the ceremony (civil, church or symbolic) you would like to have. COMPROMISE It is very important that both, bride and groom participate in the creation of the concept of the ideal wedding.  You can write down all your wishes and ideas on a piece of paper, and afterwards you should select those which are most important for both of you. It is important to leave some space for the wishes your parents, especially if they are financially participating in your wedding. ADVICE: Compromise is a key component in balancing the expectations, desires and possibilities. FIND A LOCAL WEDDING PLANNER Be sure you know who is who in the process of planning, organization and coordination of the wedding day. If you have chosen the wedding planner to help you with the wedding, professionals will take care of all the details, you will have time to relax and spend quality time with your guests. ADVICE: It is hard to organize a destination wedding from abroad. Local wedding planners can save you both time and money especially when it comes to choosing vendors. ROLES Your guests are guests, and we highly advise to engage business professionals for all the services. ADVICE: Many couples engage friends for certain roles on their wedding day (you have a friend who is a DJ or a friend who can take photos, etc.) and it usually results with disappointment because the guest will not feel as a guest on your wedding and you, on the other hand, will not have a professional person who can fullfil everything what is expected from him/her. BACK-UP OPTION You have chosen a beach for your dream day. Everything is perfect, the sun is shining, palm trees look just perfect – and all of the sudden, it starts raining! And you? Do you have everything ready for the bad weather and unpredictable situations? ADVICE: Always be sure to have a ready back-up option in case of a bad weather. MUSIC It is important to pay attention to the dynamics of the entire event. Music as the basis of each party must be diverse, adapted to the space and to the guests you have invited. ADVICE:  Make sure to choose a different type of music for the ceremony, cocktail reception and dinner. PROGRAM Too long program and too many speeches within the formal dinners can have the opposite effect and ‘shut down’ entertainment. Each speech should not be more than 3 minutes long. ADVICE: Sitting down for too long and having many speeches which last for too long can ‘’kill’’ the party. CONCEPT, DESIGN AND DECORATION You have lots of ideas and inspirations, but do not know how to tie everything together into a unified whole? Create a ‘mood board’ – all the details and ideas put into one place and pay attention that they are compatible. ADVICE: Design and decoration must be unified with the space where the wedding takes place and your wedding dress, hairstyle, make-up, flowers, cake and all details should be a part of this unified concept. PRIORITIES Be sure to think carefully and define priorities – make sure that your budget is well distributed and that you have enough resources for those elements which are really important to you. Someone’s priority is good photographer, somebody else wants good music, and someone will ignore both of these elements and choose the best food and drinks. ADVICE: Choose your priorities and stick to them! Do not forget about each other during the whole process and do not neglect your relationship. Have time to enjoy a romantic dinner, or have fun with your friends … without mentioning the Wedding You are getting married because you want to celebrate the love you feel for each other. Let this always be your guiding principle. With this in mind, planning your wedding will be a real pleasure! Dubrovnik Wedding Planner – Yes I Du Your Dubrovnik Wedding Photographer Published on

Dubrovnik Wedding – Eva and Greg

Thank you for stopping by. We’re glad you’re here. Dubrovnik Wedding with a Military Story of Love and Service Eva and Greg Dubrovnik Wedding | Eva and Greg  met thousands of miles away from one other.  They spent time over the period of a year simply writing and exchanging thoughts on everything from mediocre importance like favorite foods and the news or of monumental importance like kids and religion.    Their words and their conversations turned into something more.  This courtship separated by countless miles became commitment.  A commitment from Greg to travel to Germany and a commitment from Eva to risk everything on this lumbering monster of a man. (lol) The first time they met in Germany during most would say the surroundings were unfit to stoke the fires of everlasting love.  Words like cold, harsh, unforgiving were used to describe the weather and surroundings that fall and winter, but Eva and Greg’s love broke through.   They suffered annoyance and happiness from the typical hurdles new couples’ experience, moving in together, learning each other’s rhythms, and encouraging each other’s passions. Inevitably Eva and Greg came to a major decision in their relationship.   Could they trust each other enough to welcome a new member of their yet to be solidified family?    The answer was yes and they chose the Dogo Argentino.  The Dogo Argentino is a beautiful headstrong dog that was developed in Argentina. The breeder wanted a dog that would exhibit steadfast bravery and willingly protect its human companions to the death.  This was really the true point at which Eva and Greg made an eternal commitment to one another.  Cooper their now two and a half year old boy continued to teach Eva and Greg the meaning of trust, unconditional love, and forgiveness the essential parts of any marriage and it is from his commitment to be at their sides, that they too strengthened their commitment to each other. Within a year of bringing Cooper into their lives Greg knew it was time to ask for Eva’s hand in marriage.  He nervously spent a day with Eva’s father Siegfried, mother Doris, and Brother Johannes to ask permission and was thankfully given it without incident.  Soon after Greg planned to take Eva back to the U.S. and ask the big question, but hardship struck at the worst time.  Greg’s Grandfather passed away and Eva was quickly thrown into a scenario where she would have to experience Greg at his worst and also his Father Richard, Mother Michele, and brothers Rick and Mike’s worst of times.  Eva carried Greg’s sorrow and fear as her own and through the sadness of this event, the beauty of two people promising their unspoken matters of the heart gave everyone glimmer of hope. The Wedding was set but, “Why Dubrovnik?” one would ask. Eva a German Woman and Greg an American Man had no connection to this city, no history with the Croatian people.  Their decision mimicked the tale of their love.  They simply fell head over heels in love with the city after only one trip there.  Their first visit walking in the old town, dipping in the Adriatic Sea, and sharing the unforgettable sunsets together mimicked exactly what the perfect wedding should have.  Dubrovnik has natural beauty and is a constant reminder of the countless couples who devoted their love to one another through time.   They declared their love in front of family, friends, God Almighty, and yes also Cooper eternally and forever on September 24th 2015. Engagement shooting on Vis Island

engagement shooting on vis island

Engagement shooting on Island of Vis Engagement shooting on Vis island is more than just a photo session — it’s a chance to stop time and celebrate your love in one of the most beautiful places in Croatia. Engagement is one of those rare moments in life that truly deserves to be remembered. For many couples, it’s just as meaningful and emotional as the wedding day itself. That’s why engagement shooting on island of Vis is such a powerful experience — because it gives you the chance to pause, connect, and celebrate your love story before the big day. We love capturing engagements. They’re natural, unposed, and full of honest emotions. It’s not just about the ring or the perfect location — it’s about the little looks, the laughter, and that quiet excitement you feel when you know you’ve found your person. And when this kind of moment happens on a place like Vis… it becomes unforgettable. Why Choose Vis for Your Engagement Shoot There are so many amazing locations in Croatia, but island of Vis holds something truly special. It’s the farthest inhabited island on the Croatian coast, which makes it feel both intimate and adventurous. Surrounded by the deep blue Adriatic, Vis is peaceful, raw, and beautifully authentic. Vis is settled in the large Bay of Saint George and has a long and rich history. It dates back to the 4th century and was once the economic and naval center of the area. The island was ruled by the Greeks and later by the Republic of Venice — and every culture that passed through left something behind. You can feel that mix of heritage in every stone street and hidden bay. For engagement photography, this means endless possibilities. Whether you prefer dramatic cliffs, romantic hidden beaches, olive groves, or rustic old towns — Vis has it all. The textures, the light, the sea, the silence — it’s every photographer’s dream and every couple’s perfect backdrop. The Iconic Fort George – History with a View One of the most unique spots for engagement shooting on island of Vis is definitely Fort George. Located just above the town of Vis, this historic British fortress was built in 1813 and served as a strategic military post. Today, it has been transformed into a cultural hub and one of the top wedding and event venues in Croatia. Fort George is the kind of place that feels both ancient and alive. With its massive stone walls wrapped in bougainvillea, panoramic sea views, and golden sunsets, it offers a cinematic atmosphere that’s hard to find anywhere else. Whether you’re planning a proposal, a pre-wedding shoot, or simply a day to celebrate your love, Fort George offers a setting that is elegant, wild, and breathtaking. And the best part? You can stay for dinner, enjoy local food and wine, and watch the sun disappear into the horizon — all in one place. Biševo and the Blue Grotto – Nature’s Magic No mention of Vis would be complete without talking about the Blue Grotto, a stunning natural cave located on the nearby island of Biševo, just a short boat ride from Komiža. This magical spot is famous for the surreal glowing blue light that appears inside the cave at a specific time of day — usually between 11 am and noon. It’s one of the most photographed natural wonders in Croatia, and for good reason. The cave offers a mystical and dreamlike atmosphere that adds a touch of fairytale to any engagement session. Many couples choose to include a short boat trip here as part of their day — it’s a perfect mix of adventure and beauty. Creating Memories That Feel Like You We understand that engagement photography isn’t just about the images — it’s about how you feel during the shoot. That’s why our goal is to make you feel comfortable, present, and completely yourselves. We’ll gently guide you if needed, but mostly we’ll just let you be in the moment. The result? Photos and videos that actually feel like you. Our approach is relaxed and storytelling-based. We love natural light, candid moments, and letting things unfold spontaneously. On Vis, we don’t rush — we move with the rhythm of the island and with your energy. When to Plan Your Engagement Shooting on Vis The best time to plan an engagement shooting on island of Vis is from late spring to early autumn. May, June, and September are especially beautiful — fewer crowds, soft golden light, and perfect weather. Sunsets are particularly magical, and we usually plan the shoot to finish right around that time. If you’re already planning your wedding in Croatia, or even just visiting Vis on holiday, don’t hesitate to reach out. Engagement sessions don’t have to be complicated — just you two, the island, and a camera that sees your story. Final Thoughts – Real Emotions, Real Locations There are so many reasons to fall in love with Vis — and once you’re there, you’ll understand why so many couples choose it for both their engagement and wedding. It’s peaceful, romantic, and full of history, beauty, and soul. Whether you’re dreaming of a barefoot walk on the beach, a kiss under stone arches, or simply laughing together in a wild olive grove, engagement shooting on island of Vis is the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of your forever. If this sounds like your kind of love story — reach out. We’d be honored to capture it for you. HERE you can see a beautiful wedding on Island Vis

Short history of the wedding photography

The newlyweds are shooting a video in a tangerine field - history of the wedding photography

History of the wedding photography l Wedding photography is the form of photography related to weddings. It usually covers events a few hours (sometimes even few days) before the couple gets married and the ceremony itself, from the beginning until the very end. The art of the wedding photography evolved since the invention of the first permanent photograph in 1826 by Joseph Nicephore Niepce. Actually, the first official wedding photograph in the world might be from the wedding of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria in 1840. It is interesting to know that at first people didn’t pose for their weddings. On the contrary, they would rather pose in some nice clothes before and after the wedding and it was usual in the first part of the 19th century. In that old times it also wasn’t common to hire a photographer for the wedding. This tradition ended around 1860s, when more and more couples in love wanted a great memory of their big day and they started to hire professional wedding photographers. They would pose in the wedding clothes and photographers would also follow the whole ceremony. But it was a hard work since the photography equipment was very heavy and had so many parts at first. That’s why the first wedding photographs were mainly studio made. In the 1880s the technology became lighter and wedding photographers would follow the couple, their guests and even take photographs of the wedding gifts. And here we are at the beginning of the 20th century. This is the time when the color photography became available. But not to easy! The color photography was far too expensive and also very unreliable so the most wedding photographs were still made in black and white technique. After the Second World War the lightning and roll techniques became available and it was very common for photographers to come to the wedding, make photograph and sell them later, both to the married couple and the guests. It was still the time of the lowquality photographs, but the technology was growing really fast. We can say that the real modern wedding photography as we know it today, started in the 1970s when the wedding photography developed intodocumentary style, meaningdocumenting everything before, during and after the wedding, making memorable albums that will bea great reminder of the wedding for the rest of our lives.

Big Fat Croatian wedding – why?

We all know the comedy movie ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ that conquered all world theaters and put smiles on many faces. Even though some people say they want a small decent wedding, deep down in their hearts they actually dream of the big, white, traditional and, we may say, fat wedding (fat meaning the wedding with lots of nice and tasty foods). So, how about a big fat Croatian wedding? If you have never heard of Croatia seat back, relax and keep reading! Croatia is the newest star on the European Union flag. This is a small country with big potential, mostly in natural and historical resources. This is the country with one of the richest water sources in Europe but also in the world and it’s most famous for its beautiful coastline on the Adriatic Sea. Many people say it is one of the most beautiful seas in the world! Besides the blue sea,  there are also thousands (yeah, you read well – thousands!) of islands, islets and peninsulas and this is what makes the whole Croatian Adriatic story so special.  One of the Croatian treasure destinations is widely known town of Dubrovnik. It is settled in the south of Croatia, close to the Montenegro border. Dubrovnik is recognized by the medieval walls and is named one of the ten most beautiful medieval cities in the world. Apart from the walls, this town has numerous churches, narrow streets, restaurants and other remarkable old constructions where you could have your ‘big fat Croatian wedding’. It is also good to mention that Dubrovnik is one of the top touristic destinations in the world and its second name is ‘Croatian Athens’! But, Dubrovnik is not the only pearl Croatia can offer. There are many other places that can easily take your breath away and make you to consider having your wedding ceremony exactly there! Just to name a few – town of Rovinj, island of Hvar (the sunniest place in Croatia!), town of Split, Zadar, Šibenik… All of this places offer beautiful nature, most of all clean, crystal blue see, and also old churches, narrow streets, good food… what else do you need for a great wedding? But it’s not only the coast that Croatia can offer. It also has mountainous regions and flat areas.  Lika is mountainous region and can be very romantic durring winter, with a lot of snow covering many nice old weekend cottages. On the other side is flat area called Slavonia. Huge green meadows, many rivers and grain fields, numerous medieval churches and castles is what you first notice. Perhaps, one of the places inland could be a prefect place for your wedding! Apart from the beautiful regions of Croatia, this country offers memorable culinary experience, too. One of many secrets to great Croatian food are top-notch ingredients from the land and sea. Sea food is very popular on the coastline and the tastes you feel there will surely make you come again for more. On the continental part of the country very popular meals are made of meat, beans and potatoes prepared the traditional way. Many would agree that Croatia’s untouched natural beauty, healthy food, water, medival architechture, warm, pleasent and hospitable people make it the perfect wedding destination! So why not have a ‘big fat Croatian wedding’?!

Wedding Palmizana Hvar

Wedding Video Palmizana – An Amazing Place to Get Married Have you ever been to Palmizana? If not, let us paint the picture. It’s not just an island — it’s a piece of heaven floating on the Adriatic. Nestled near the more famous Hvar Island, Palmizana is one of those rare places where time slows down, senses awaken, and nature does all the talking. With its lush pine forests, fragrant rosemary, crystal-clear waters, and intimate beach coves, it truly feels like a hidden paradise made for lovers of peace, beauty, and authentic Mediterranean charm. It’s no surprise that Anah and Jon, our radiant couple from the United Kingdom, instantly fell in love with this magical place. They were looking for something truly unique — a wedding that wouldn’t feel like a checklist, but like a dream they were living out with the people who mattered most. And Palmizana delivered on every level. When we first received their message, we were deeply touched. Anah and Jon told us they had come across our work online and were immediately drawn to the way we tell stories — naturally, emotionally, and without pretension. They wanted us to be there, to witness and capture their most special day. It’s always humbling to hear that our films travel far and stir emotions in people we’ve never even met — and when those people invite us into their lives, it feels like a true honor. We met the couple a day before the wedding and were instantly charmed. There was something effortlessly beautiful about them — the way they looked at each other, how they finished each other’s thoughts, and how comfortable they were just being themselves. From the beginning, it was clear that this wouldn’t be a stiff or staged wedding, but rather a relaxed, honest celebration of love, friendship, and joy. The morning of the wedding was peaceful — the kind of peace that only islands like Palmizana can offer. Gentle waves lapping against the docks, sun filtering through pine needles, a few boats floating quietly in the distance. It was as if nature itself was holding its breath in anticipation of something beautiful. Anah got ready in a cozy seaside villa, surrounded by her closest friends. Laughter filled the air as they helped her into her dress, each moment more genuine than the last. No rushing, no stress — just joy, music, and excitement. Jon, equally relaxed, spent the morning with his groomsmen, toasting to the day ahead and soaking in the calm. The ceremony took place in a small clearing overlooking the sea. No traditional chapel, no heavy decorations — just the couple, their people, and the blue horizon. The vows they exchanged were deeply personal and heartfelt. It was one of those rare moments where you could see everyone — guests, vendors, even us — silently moved, eyes glistening, hearts open. After the ceremony, the celebration truly began. The reception was held outdoors, under fairy lights strung between pine trees, with long wooden tables filled with Mediterranean dishes and local wines. Music floated in the air, and laughter echoed through the forest. It felt more like a summer night with friends than a formal wedding — and that was exactly the point. What made this wedding so special was how true it was to them. Anah and Jon didn’t follow any trends or expectations. They followed their hearts. And Palmizana, in all its raw and natural beauty, allowed them the space to do just that. As wedding videographers, we always look for stories — not just pretty visuals. And this wedding gave us everything. Moments of quiet intimacy, explosive laughter, spontaneous dancing, kids running barefoot, a toast that turned into a group singalong, a sunset that made everyone stop and stare. There was no script, just life unfolding beautifully. We captured it all in a 15-minute film that, we hope, reflects the soul of that day. The energy, the love, the connection. We often say that a wedding video isn’t just for the couple, but for their future selves — for those quiet nights years from now when they want to remember how it all felt. The light. The music. The touch. The emotion. Not long after delivering the video, we received a message from Anah and Jon that truly moved us. They told us they had cried watching it — not because it was sad, but because it brought back every second of that day with such intensity and truth. They watched it with their families. They shared it with friends who couldn’t be there. And most of all, they said, “It felt like us.” That’s always the goal. To create something that’s not just beautiful, but meaningful. Something real. Palmizana is the kind of place that lends itself to magic. It strips away the noise and lets emotion breathe. For couples looking for an alternative wedding destination in Croatia, one that’s off the beaten path but filled with warmth, personality, and natural wonder — this island is truly a gem. It’s perfect for small weddings, elopements, or intimate gatherings where connection matters more than perfection. The logistics are simple, especially with the help of local planners, and the experience is unforgettable. Palmizana isn’t for everyone — and that’s what makes it so special. It’s for dreamers, for romantics, for those who want something different. We’ll never forget this celebration, and we hope this video speaks to those of you who are still searching for your place — your moment. If it makes your heart beat faster, that’s a good sign. This is Anah and Jon’s story. Their love, their people, their island. And this is their wedding video — a tribute to everything they felt, shared, and lived on that perfect day. Watch the full film and feel the energy of Palmizana. Maybe it’s the place where your story will begin too. Anah and Jon, Palmizana Hvar Wedding Video from OneDayStudio – Croatia Weddings on Vimeo.
