Real Wedding in Split – From Old Town to Villa Dalmatia

These beautiful newlyweds, whom we met on the very day of their wedding, immediately won us over with their warmth, simplicity and contagious energy. They came from Poland, but Croatia had long been a special place for them a summer escape they returned to year after year. It made perfect sense that they would choose this coastline as the backdrop for their wedding. With the help of their planner, Weddings in Split, they orchestrated every detail to perfection creating an atmosphere that would leave both them and their guests breathless as they stepped into the magical setting of Villa Dalmatia.

The day began at Hotel San Antonio in Podstrana, just outside Split, where the preparations unfolded in a relaxed and joyful mood. The ceremony took place in the heart of the city, at the iconic St. Domnius Cathedral. With golden light filling the narrow stone streets and the sea breeze gently lifting the veil, we captured soft, intimate portraits through Split’s old town and along the promenade.

After about 30 minutes of wandering and photographing, we made our way to Villa Dalmatia — just a short drive from the city center. And that’s where the second kind of magic began…

An Intimate Celebration in the Heart of Split

As the sun dipped behind the cliffs and the sky turned to soft shades of blue and gold, Villa Dalmatia opened its doors with quiet elegance. Surrounded by pine trees and the Adriatic Sea, it became a private world for the couple and their guests — calm, cinematic and entirely their own.

The reception was styled with care. Long tables dressed in delicate florals, soft candlelight bouncing off stone walls, and gentle golden touches that caught the last of the daylight. Everything felt intentional and warm, yet beautifully restrained.

Their entrance was simple but deeply moving. Music chosen with meaning, applause filled with genuine affection. Speeches followed, unrehearsed but sincere, and laughter echoed softly through the space. Then came the first dance — framed by subtle lighting, the sea just behind them, and the low hum of voices and waves blending in the background. The night unfolded naturally. Friends danced barefoot on the stone terrace. Glasses clinked under the stars. Quiet glances and moments between songs revealed the heart of the celebration. We captured it all without ever stepping in — simply allowing the atmosphere to speak for itself. Because some weddings are not just beautiful. They are felt. And those are the stories we love to tell.
