We can’t believe that it’s already been a year since our magical wedding on Vis island in Croatia. The time has flown so fast.
Sam and I met around 12 years ago – we worked together in a shop where we also met most of our best friends that were part of our wedding party. Since our first date we’ve become inseparable. We’ve been together from our university days, first jobs all the way through to buying our home together, getting engaged and married. So you could easily say that we have literally grown up together.
Since I originally come from Bosnia, and I always loved Croatia (used to be our family holiday destination for years). I decided to bring Sam to Croatia as well, so he could experience the magic of the Adriatic Sea and all the beautiful places it has to offer. Little did I know that a few years later – Sam would get down on one knee in the middle of the sea on a little boat, while we were exploring the Pakleni islands, and propose.
We always said that when we get married it would definitely be back in Croatia. That’s when we discovered the island Vis and Fort George. We fell in love with the fort from the first moment we went to see it and had a dinner there. The sunset that night was so magical that I we didn’t even look at any other places of venues we were certain our wedding would definitely be there.
Fast forward a few years and a few postponed wedding dates (because of Covid) we finally made it to Vis with all of our family and friends. We were so excited and thrilled to show our nearest and dearest the magical island that we fell in love with. Vis is beautiful, it is referred to as one of the sunniest islands in the world, the sea is crystal clear and people are so kind and welcoming. Our dream day was captured by One Day Studio weddings photography, Zvonimir and Danijela were amazing. Sam usually hates being in front of the camera, but both of them made us feel so relaxed and we almost didn’t even notice they were there. They went above and beyond to capture our day in the best possible way. Our photographs are incredible and one year on I absolutely love looking back and remembering this day. They’ve managed to capture every detail and every moment, so it’s almost like we’re back there with all of our family and friends.
We love looking back, and everyone who attended said it was a day to remember. I want to say a big thank you to Zvonimir and Danijela, and everyone else who made our days so special.
